Andon Tashukov
European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO)
Andon Tashukov is Case Analyst and Coordinator of the “Expenditure Fraud and Corruption” team at the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO).
Before taking up this position, he was legal adviser within the Bulgarian Anti-Fraud Service “Protection of the financial interests of the European Union” within the Ministry of Interior, where worked since 2014. He is a member of the working groups within the Council of European Union, the European Commission and the European Anti-Fraud Office in the area of protection of EU’s financial interests.
His main responsibilities within AFCOS were related to the control, coordination and informational functions in the area of all EU funds on national level, incl. second level control on the legality of administrative investigations of EU funds; participation in working groups for preparing drafts of strategic legislative and non-legislative documents at national and EU level and legal representation before the national courts.
Prior to joining the fight against irregularities and fraud in AFCOS, Andon has worked in a civil law’s notary office during the period 2009-2014, latest position Legal adviser, and was dealing with all types of legal questions and cases from the area of national, international and EU law.
Holds a Master’s degree in Law; a second Master’s degree and Interuniversity degree in EU Law from Sofia University “Saint Kliment Ohridski” and University de Lorraine in Nancy, France and is finishing his Ph.D. (doctorate) within the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the area of EU law and Constitutional law.
Teaches EU Law and protection of the financial interests of the EU in the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) in Bulgaria, the Public Finance School within the Ministry of Finance and within Sofia University “Saint Kliment Ohridski”.
Andon is author of verious articles in the field of financial law, constitutional law, European Union Law, coauthror of guidelines of the European Comission and was chosen as “One of the 100 persons behind the science in Bulgaria” in an article by Science Magazine BG. Speaks fluently English, Spanish, Porgutuese and Bulgarian, uses French and Latin.
