European Green Deal 2021-2027: DG Regio and EIB Financial and Economic Appraisal
Learn how the European Commission – DG REGIO, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) finance and appraise investments that contribute to climate action and environmental sustainability.
You will learn about:
- Available EU funding for the Green Deal investment projects
- Methods to assess the economic desirability/viability and the socio-economic costs and benefits of a wide range of green investment projects
- Excel tool provided with Economic Appraisal Vademecum: the simplified CBA calculator and its practical application on transport and energy investments
- Green Advisory Service for Sustainable Investments Support
- How to adjust the project quality and make it desirable for the EU co-financing
- Acquire deep knowledge of the methods to assess the economic viability and the socio-economic costs and benefits of a wide range of green investment projects funded within the framework of the European Green Deal in different sectors including energy, circular economy and mobility.
- Take part in workshops that will allow you to practice how to assess the viability of projects, how to adjust the project quality and make it desirable for the EU co-financing.
- Participants will have access to a moodle platform which will contain online materials and documentation regarding the Green Deal.
- Managing Authorities, Audit Authorities, Potential beneficiaries of Green Deal funding
- Economic and social partners, including: Universities, NGOs, regional or thematic associations involved in Green Deal Funding
- Consulting companies who provide support to national authorities
- All stakeholders interested in EU environmental policy and initiatives against climate change and who wish to get a comprehensive understanding of the Green Deal, its funding and the latest development linked to it.

Fee
The fee includes documentation, refreshments, lunches, a walking sightseeing tour of Madrid and a dinner. Accommodation and travel costs are at the expense of the participants or their administration.
Discounts
EIPA member fee
EIPA offers a discount to all civil servants working for one of EIPA’s supporting countries, and civil servants working for an EU institution, body or agency.
Who are the supporting countries?
Civil servants coming from the following EIPA supporting countries are entitled to get the reduced fee: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
For all other participants, the regular fee applies.
Early bird discount
The early bird discount is not cumulative with other discounts or promo codes, except for the EIPA member fee.
Meals
Dietary preferences can be indicated on the registration form.
Confirmation
Confirmation of registration will be forwarded to participants on receipt of the completed online registration form.
Payment
Prior payment is a condition for participation.
Cancellation policy
For administrative reasons you will be charged €150 for cancellations received within 15 days before the activity begins. There is no charge for qualified substitute participants.
EIPA reserves the right to cancel the activity up to 2 weeks before the starting date. In that case, registration fees received will be fully reimbursed. EIPA accepts no responsibility for any costs incurred (travel, accommodation, etc.).
