AIRPAS - Adriatic Ionian Regional Public Administration School
The Adriatic-Ionian regions are a strategic area of cooperation between EU Member States and the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion members. It represents a model of cooperation that includes transnational and interregional cooperation between regions along the Adriatic coastline.
Despite the cultural, economical and social diversities of the members of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, they are linked by common interests and objectives to promote economic growth and development towards European integration. The Italian relationships with the Adriatic States represent a priority of Italian foreign policy for several cultural and geographical reasons. The elements that make the European South-East area of crucial interest are the interdependence in the field of security and migration, as well as the common interest in redefining a cooperation plan for this area.
The specific objective of the project is to create a training centre for the Adriatic-Ionian Regions, which targets mainly public administrations’ need to strengthen capacity-building. The Adriatic Ionian Regional Public Administration School (AIRPAS) will be able to adapt effectively to the training needs of the different thematic areas to promote the European integration within the entire area.
EIPA and the Regione Molise have identified two priority areas of interest. A first area is the creation of a limited number of actions, simultaneously providing for an innovative exchange of best practices covering different fields such as educational systems, the integration policy in the field of youth work, and development of all policies in a wider sense.
The second area concerns the identification and promotion of projects and activities from past programming, which have yielded results of great value and have been the subject of awards for their quality, including actions for the transfer of good practice and virtuous experiences between different regions and provinces aimed at disseminating innovative forms of more productive work organisation.
Taking into account that the Region supports a limited number of interventions aimed at strengthening the existing policy commitments directed towards the Adriatic and Ionian, this assumes great importance for the strategic development of an instrument of policy coordination, training and employment in this specific geopolitical area.
The objectives and results of this project will be sustained over the long term by providing the Adriatic-Ionian regions, in particular the Regione Molise, with a sustainable common cultural platform, through which new associations and partnerships can be created. In particular AIRPAS, through the experiences gained by Member States of the European Union, will be able to properly face all matters concerning the policies and processes of European integration, including the management and use of European funds, whether structural or thematic.
