What is the EU Green Deal and how does it work? How can projects be financed under the Green Deal and its Just Transition Fund, RRF and MFF? This course provides a comprehensive overview of the main features of the Green Deal and what it entails in terms of policies, legislation and funding: all you ever wanted to know about the Green Deal and EU funding is here!

About this course

Part of the EIPA series on the European Green Deal, this is an opportunity to get the ‘big picture’ on the Green Deal as well as a clear overview of its main components. Learn about the climate change objectives (‘Fit for 55’, carbon neutrality by 2050), energy union (energy efficiency and energy renewables), circular economy, biodiversity strategy, ‘farm to fork’ strategy and zero pollution objectives. Get updated on the latest legislative developments on all issues related to the Green Deal. Have a clear picture of the financing of the Green Deal and understand the allocation of EU funds to projects and initiatives which contribute to the objectives of the Green Deal.

What will you learn

You will learn about:

  • the pillars of the Green Deal, such as air quality, waste management, climate targets, energy efficiency and energy renewables;
  • the interplay with other policy areas such as agriculture or transport;
  • which EU funds are available under which financing programmes to help achieve the objectives of environmental protection and combatting climate change under the Green Deal;
  • up-to-date policy and legislative developments.

Course methodology/highlights

This online course will be delivered by live streaming during five consecutive half-days via Zoom.

The sessions will be conducted by experts with a presentation on key topics. These will be all be followed by periods of Q & A allowing for the exchange of ideas, and discussions where participants will have the opportunity to share professional experiences.

Participants will have access to a Moodle platform with online materials and documentation regarding the Green Deal.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • understand what the obligations for public administrations of Member States are, as well as private stakeholders, which are stemming from the Green Deal;
  • be aware of practical solutions to the challenges posed by CO2 emissions reduction targets;
  • know which EU funds are available to finance programmes and projects at national level under the Green Deal;
  • be up to date about the current state of play of the legislation.

All stakeholders interested in EU environmental policy and initiatives against climate change and who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Green Deal and the latest developments linked to it.

Payment
Prior payment is a condition for participation.

Cancellation policy
For administrative reasons you will be charged € 50 for cancellations received within 7 days before the activity begins. There is no charge for qualified substitute participants.

EIPA reserves the right to cancel the activity up to 1 week before the starting date. In that case, registration fees received will be fully reimbursed.
